The original idea for the competition came from photographer and filmmaker Crispian Blaize.
The first edition of The Everyday Fantastic took place in July 2021 under the theme ‘Better Future’, in partnership with Film London and Lux. The best entries were screened at Camden New Town Community Festival and three young creatives received a £50 prize each.
In 2022, The Everyday Fantastic returned, with filmmaking workshops delivered across Camden youth centres funded by Camden Giving. Director Chris Reeves delivered the prizes to young filmmakers on the day of the screening.
In subsequent years Cut Moose has collaborated with the History Society and Camden Roundhouse to showcase podcast workshops and locally produced films at the Camden New Town Community Festival.
