Cut Moose

The Jubilation workshops

engaged community members in creating fantastical crowns, culminating in a fabulous Jubilation celebration in June 2022.

The street parade started at Hilldrop Community Centre and filled the neighbourhood with music and colour, all funded by the National Lottery Community Fund.

During the workshops, young people made and designed crowns of all shapes and sizes. They took place at Brecknock School, Maiden Lane Youth Club, Regents Park Trust, NW5 Holiday Club, Somerstown Youth Club, the Zone, The Dome, Eleanor Palmer School and Hilldrop Community Centre with families.

Everyone in the community was invited to join us to improvise, parade, perform, and have fun on 1st June at the Hilldrop Community Centre Jubilee Celebration concluding with a delicious free international supper.

The stunning crowns, alongside photos from the Jubilee Celebration, were later exhibited in 2022 at the British Library in their community festival, in Belsize Community Library and Highgate Library.

Long live all our kings and queens of Camden and Islington!
